Hey guys,

What do you think the chances of Ben Tackie beating Ricky Hatton are? Should Ricky win this one hands down?

come on: boxing_freak, valdosta, and sphincter. Let's hear your thoughts.

agree with green...although hatton isn`t a classic boxer,he does have some skills....he knows how to utilize angles enough to f-ck tackie`s limited footwork up....

i don`t think hatton will stand directly in front of tackie.....that would be tackie`s only chance....teddy reid,a guy notorious for not using his height and boxing ability to the fullest extent, stood in front of tackie and got zapped.....

tackie`s very limited...but you don`t give him opportunities.....hatton has pretty good stamina....he should be able to outwork tackie....

if he stops tackie, you`ve got a story....nobody else has....and that list includes tszyu, sharmba mitchell, reid, goyo vargas, john john molina.....he`s been in with some solid guys.....

hotton by decision looks probable....imo...

I've seen Tackie a couple times and he's just a step above journeyman, never will be championship material. I'm not completely sold on Hatton, but he will make Tackie look bad.

I must admit that I have not seen very much of Ben Tackie. I have been able to watch Ricky Hatton in action on at least a couple of occasions. I most remember Hatton in his bout against a faded Vince Phillips. I will say that Hatton has decent skills as a young up-and-coming boxer.

When I do not know a tremendous amount about one of the two fighters, I usually review fighter records at www.boxrec.com to get an idea of the what the strengths and weaknesses are of the fighter for which I am not familiar. And based on Tackie's record, level of opposition, and his performances against top-tier competition, I would have to give the edge to Hatton. In every bout where Tackie has faced formidable opponents, he has lost by very wide margins (not winning any rounds on some scorecards). Tackie has made it this far in his career because he is a tough and true workhorse. He just falls short in the skills department.

Ricky Hatton by Unanimous Decision.

Hatton will probably win but he likes to stand and trade a lot. he's putting himself in danger if he trades with Tackie. Tackie is mediocre but he has a good right hand. I won't take Tackie at +360 (5dimes), but if a HIGH KO prop comes out I will take it.

I am pretty disgusted that Hatton is fighting Tackie. Tackie has lost his last three fights I believe. Tszyu, Mitchell, and Im pretty sure he lost to another guy in between. Ben Tackie is washed up and a shot fighter. He dosent have a chance. I was really impressed by Hattons last win against Phillips - the way he was badly cut in the first and still went after him like he did.
I know he needed plastic surgery for that cut and that is why he hasnt fought since but still... Ben Tackie? What the fuk is the point? It proves absolutely nothing. He needs to lose that piece of sh!t promoter Warren and grow a sack.

Having said that - Tackie has no shot.

Hatton should win without too much trouble.
Tackie is limited and has nowhere to go but down.
